My brand of wine writing is aided by a hands-on philosophy that allows me to get in touch with winemakers and the regions that they work in, resulting in articles that give the reader the feeling of looking through the eyes of the winemakers rather than looking at the winemakers. I specialize in the Salento Peninsula, Puglia, Italy, and Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley, California, United States, and the Zinfandel/Primitivo grape. If you wanted to call me an irreverent classicist, that'd be fine, but I prefer winelover.
