2014 Portland Events Wall Calendar Arrives in Stores Featuring Portland’s Best Events and Activities
Third annual Portland wall calendar shows off over 250 events and activities in 2014
PORTLAND, Ore., (Oct. 1, 2013) –- Now in its third year, the Portland Events wall calendar is a Portland event guide and wall calendar rolled into one. Last year, the calendar nearly tripled sales, becoming the all-time, best-selling calendar at Powell’s Books, and, this year, the Portland Events wall calendar hits the shelves of greater-Portland retailers October 1, 2013. It retails for $15.97—the price same as regular calendars.
With hundreds of ideas for things to do, the Portland Events Wall Calendar is a how-to guide for Portland fun. It features 250+ events and activities with clear descriptions and website addresses, and, importantly, it prints accurate event dates right on the calendar to help Portlanders plan for fun days, weeks, and months in advance (that means knowing the dates for hundreds of Portland events months before they take place). The calendar exudes Portland pride and makes a great gift. It is widely available and sold at Powell’s Books, New Seasons, Whole Foods Markets, Costco, Calendar Club, and numerous, locally owned small businesses.
To accompany the hundreds of local events, the calendar displays original color photos of Portland and its strikingly beautiful inhabitants. These aren’t your typical calendar shots; think Zoolights at the Oregon Zoo, Yoga Rocks the Park in Laurelhurst Park, cyclists winding their way coastward as part of Reach the Beach, and Zoobomb’s infamous Chariot Wars. Portland photographer, Mark Gamba, whose work has appeared in art museums as well as such magazines as Sports Illustrated, Esquire, Forbes, and National Geographic Adventure, provides one big photo a month. In addition to featuring local photos, the calendar is researched, written, edited, and printed by Portlanders...
